A Fitness Tracker - One of my Top Buys!

Let's face it, we're all at different 'stages of change' on our journey to becoming fit and healthy.  Whether you're thinking about becoming fitter, you've put your trainers on and have started, or whether you're an avid athlete, - tracking progress is vital.

If we are to be CONSISTENT and successful then we need to be ACCOUNTABLE to something or someone.  There are a few ways in which you can do this.

1) Announce to the world on social media that you are starting or on your fitness journey!  That way you will feel that you have to be consistent, and can share your successes (no matter how small you think they may be) with your friends and family.  This is also great because you build up a support network around you.

2) Buy a Fitness Journal (or create your own).  You can write down exactly what you did, when, how you felt, what you ate and drank.  It's great to look back at your progress (and reward yourself when you do!).

3) Sign up to an App, such as MyFitnessPal.  There are lots out there, and they can be really helpful, especially when starting off.

My FitBit
4) Buy a fitness tracker.  This has been the most successful one for me!  I love my FitBit!  I have set myself a goal of reaching 10,000 steps per day, and a target of over 7 hours sleep.  It nudges me every hour to get up and move if I haven't walked 250 steps that hour.  I find this really handy, as it's easy to lose track of time when sitting at a desk. I have found the sleep tracking part of it the best.  I love it!  It's helped me massively with getting more sleep, and I feel like a different person for it! : ) It sends me reminders to my iphone or ipad to get ready to wind down for bed, which is really useful.  You can also track your activity, sleep etc on your ipad and iphone.

5) Sign up to Strava or Map My Run.  You can track your distance, time, number of times you exercised etc.  You can also share your results with friends.

6) Join a Facebook group which has like-minded people to help you on your journey.  Share ideas, thoughts, successes, down times, tips etc.  Support is super important!  No one likes to do these things on their own!

Remember, CONSISTENCY and MIND SET are key on your journey to success!!  We all know that we need to eat natural foods, drink water, get 7+ hours sleep, and move our bodies as often as possible.  We all know the formula to a fitter, leaner, healthier body!  There is no magic pill or fad diet that will ensure you sustain being lean and healthy for life.  If there was, then the diet industry wouldn't be as big as it is!!

If you have any apps or things that help you, then I'd love to hear them! : )
